My lasting memory of Alison is when she was 3 years old and I was staying the weekend with the family. I was awakened early in the morning by a scream from Audrey and it transpired that Alison had got up early and was making a concoction. It consisted of a portion of her mother's powder to which she added a dollop of scent and stirred this with her mother's gold watch. After a short admonitory session we all got back to sleep!
